The IEEE EMBS MSRIT chapter,IEEE EMBS Bangalore chapter in association with Medipulse and the department of medical electronics,MSRIT,Bangalore ,organized a seminar on IEEE healthcare Standards which was held on 18th of February, 2016 at the LHC seminar hall,MSRIT campus.

 The Audience

The seminar was open  to the academic staff and the students of all the engineering disciplines.The main objective of the session was to disseminate the importance of IEEE standards education and its implementation in our daily lives.

The speaker, Mr.Munir Mohammed is currently working as program specialist Comsoc and ehealth at IEEE India. He started his talk by highlighting the importance of standards education in the engineering field as well as in other disciplines. He explained the know-how the knowledge of standards can help facilitate the transition from classroom to professional practice by aligning educational concepts with real world applications and how by incorporating standards into the curriculum benefits students and faculty mentors as they face challenging design process.

He also enumerated the use of IEEE standards education: Grants, Standards case studies book:Modern standardization, Curriculum Guide,Standards Education: e-magazine, videos, e-learning modules. He stressed on the standards MOOC on innovation and competition and the various techniques and use for succeeding through Global Standards. The websites for accessing to the IEEE standards were shared and the detailed explanation on IEEE Get program was given.

The audience was also enlightened with the know how of implementation of standards during the final year projects.

The seminar was successful in providing the students with sufficient knowledge about the IEEE healthcare standards and its immense importance in various fields of education.
