IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) is the world’s largest international society of biomedical engineers. Branching in areas of bioinformatics, biotechnology, clinical engineering, information technology, instrumentation and measurement, radiology and robotics; biomedical engineers are the link between engineering and life science. IEEE EMBS Student Branch Chapter is the affiliated student body at the University of Moratuwa which works in collaboration with the Bio Medical specialization in the department of Electronic and Telecommunication Engineering. Since its inception, the student chapter has rendered a tremendous contribution to create the awareness on engineering in medicine and biology not only in the university community but also in the Sri Lankan general public.
