The smart locker is one of the interesting things under development in our students’ projects, it is elegant and simple contrary to the complex algorithm that goes behind it, it functions by inputting a combination of the first four alphabets and numbers from zero to nine set as the password, the program it is based on is Arduino. The place it is going to be implemented is the systems and designs lab and is one of the projects that will start the cycle of completely automatizing the entire lab along with many other projects devised by the students themselves.
The process of connecting our devices with the power of the internet, more precisely the current buzz word ‘Internet of things’, is an area seeming to be in full momentum as of now in this total smart device driven age , the amount of thought and research is at its peak now and it shows no sign of slowing down. The students of CUK has also jumped on the band wagon by taking inspiration from various automation platforms, the particular version currently undergoing design is one programmed through Arduino, powered by the internet and the google voice searching software google assistant. This project is highly anticipated and will be one that will put the first steps possible in the complete automation of the systems and design lab in the engineering department.
This drone has been a long time coming, this is designed to be a monitoring system that will encircle the entire campus and will automatically realise low battery conditions and smartly alternate between flight and sleep modes, current development is being done for recognition of the temperature, humidity and smart flight conditions realising apt times to fly out and be locked in, all these features are being explored now by algorithms suitable and proper adapting of materials of the drone. As of now, these features are in development and the prototype model is ready to lash out.
This is one of those projects under development we are very fond to talk about, this amazing prototype senses the level of temperature and humidity of the nurtured plant and displays it on the provided digital screen and then smartly senses the moisture and fills the required water to fit the needed moisture underneath the plant , now here is where most projects usually end but this one has been taken a notch further and it analyses the water level inside the filling tank and then pumps water into it and when the required water level is reached sends a signal to turn it off at three levels of the amount of water checking. This particular method of irrigation really aids in lowering the amount of water wasted, knowing the temperature required and then smartly and aptly supplying the required amount of water, minimising the unnecessary loss. The coding is done using Arduino and the prototype apparatus comprises of digital display, humidity sensors, Temperature sensors.
CNC Machining is a process used in the manufacturing sector that involves the use of computers to control machine tools. Tools that can be controlled in this manner include lathes, mills, routers and grinders. The CNC in CNC Machining stands for Computer Numerical Control. The CNC machine is capable of control and is a powerful and highly accurate computer-controlled tool that makes repeated and very exact movements. It takes computer-generated code and converts it into electrical signals using software such as EMC2 for Unix and Mach3 for Windows computers, Generally CNC lathe machine cost starts from 8 to 30 lakh Rs. CNC Milling Machine cost starts from 18 Lakh to 40 Lakh Rs. CNC EDM and WEDM is very cosy depends upon the various applications. The designed mini prototype is able to articulate the input given into it , it is minimalistic in design and undergoing development, this is a highly anticipated project with the coding also being done on aruduino.
