The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a non-profit professional association headquartered in New York City that is dedicated to advancing technological innovation and excellence. The IEEE was founded on 1 January 1963. It has more than 400,000 members in more than 160 countries.

BITS, Pilani – Dubai Campus is one such active IEEE member. BPDC officially became a Student Branch of the IEEE on 5 December 2005. Currently with more than 200 student members, IEEE BPD Student Branch has been recognised as the largest student branch of IEEE in the Gulf, by the IEEE Association of New York, USA and received UAE Section’s Student Membership Growth of the Year Award.

Today, seven years after its inception, BPDC IEEE Student Branch can boast of its Executive Members’ determination and tireless efforts that make every year a success.
