Events

It has been decided that IEEE AUST Student Branch will try to arrange 3-4 workshops and two seminars per semester. Since engineering education cannot be completed without any practical knowledge and industries are the best place to acquire that knowledge, IEEE AUST SB will try to arrange an industrial tour each semester. IEEE AUST SB is also enthusiastic to arrange several other events such as job fair or project show or larger events in collaboration with IEEE Bangladesh Section.

Details about our upcoming and past events can be found below.

Power distribution, protections and earthing systems @ Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology

Power distribution, protections and earthing systems are the most important issues in the field of Power system. Students of electrical engineering must have clear knowledge about these issues for research or job life. The students who do not have any power related subjects also should have knowledge about these issues for interviews and for practical issues.

Thinking about these necessities, IEEE AUST Student Branch is going to arrange a technical discussion on “Power distribution, protections and earthing systems”.

Honorable CEO and DGM of the most promising company named “Adex group of companies” are going to be present in the seminar”.

IEEE R10 TISP BDS 2017 @ Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology

IEEE Bangladesh Section in collaboration with IEEE Robotic and Automation Society Bangladesh Chapter is going to organize ‘Teacher In-Service Program (TISP)’, supported by IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities. This year the program is going to be hosted by IEEE AUST Student Branch at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Dhaka on 30th October, 2017.

The topic of the event will be “Robotics: The next Generation Trigger to an Automotive World”. Highly experienced scholars and professionals will talk about the field of Robotics Engineering and demonstrate working principles of automated instruments.

IEEE Region 10 Educational Activities aims to raise awareness and support the implementation of educational activities in the countries of Asia Pacific region. One of the projects of IEEE R10 EA, Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) provides a platform for IEEE volunteers to demonstrate the application of engineering, science and mathematics by sharing their real-world experience with local pre-university educators.

IEEE, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology with more than 425,000 technical professionals over 160 countries. IEEE fosters technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity. In order to support the mission of IEEE, TISP functions essentially as a professional development workshop aimed at helping teachers bring exciting hands-on engineering lessons into their classroom. So, the program will be highly beneficial for the volunteers who are interested in working with schools and school systems to increase the level of technological literacy of local pre-university educators and their students.

On Tuesday January 23, 2018, IEEE AUST Student Branch and IEEE AUST SB WIE Affinity Group is going to organize a workshop on LaTeX titled as “Learn to Write Research Papers Using LaTeX”. This Workshop will be held in the DSP lab of Dept. of EEE at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST).

LaTeX which is pronounced as a Lay-Tech is a document preparation system for high quality typesetting. It is mainly designed for high quality scientific or Technical documentation. LaTeX is widely used in academia for the communication and publication of scientific documents of many field. It has a prominent role in preparation of article that contains complex multilingual materials.

LaTeX seems to be handy tools when it comes to the point of writing a scientific article, research paper, journal or even the thesis paper about which most of final year students are very much concerned about.

This workshop is going to be conducted by Shoilie Chakma, Lecturer, IAT, BUET.
