Seminar on ‘Radio Network Planning and Management’

On 18th November, 2017, a Seminar on ‘Radio Network Planning and Management’ was organized by IEEE AUST Student Branch at the seminar room of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST). The two-hour long seminar started at 3:30 PM and was carried out by the management team of Radio Planning, Grameenphone Ltd.

The seminar started with the welcome speech of the Counselor of IEEE AUST Student Branch, Masoodur Rahman Khan where he discussed about the importance of the topics of the seminar and inspired the students to enrich their knowledge on different fields of communication. The presentation sessions that followed, covered several important topics of the field of communication like repeaters, jammers, IoT, capacity management in 2G, 3G, 4G and the advancing 5G, site planning and career development in the respective sectors and so on. The speakers of the sessions were high level officials of Radio Planning department of Grameenphone Ltd.

At the starting of the sessions, Md. Sarwar Jahan, Head of Radio Planning, Grameenphone Ltd. took the stage to discuss about the difficulties faced by new engineers and how to overcome them by some specific qualities. Later on Saikat Talukder (Regional Head, Dhaka), Bhuyan Mohammad Zamshed Uddin (Expert, RF Strategy), Mohammad Muhaimen Bhuiyan (Regional Head, Chittagong), Rayeesa Nafis (Regional Head, Rajshahi), Nurun Nahar Dora (Regional Head, Khulna), Gour Das Poddar (Regional Head, Syllhet), A.B.M Nasir-Ud-Doula (Solution Expert), Md. Rizwanul Bari (Principal Engineer, Business Support) and Md. Imranul Abedin (Head of Service Assurance) talked about technical fields of their expertise. After the technical sessions, an interactive Q&A session was held where students and faculty members were able to learn more about their queries.

The program concluded with Mr. Masoodur Rahman Khan thanking the speakers for their insightful speeches and presenting small tokens of gratitude to the speakers.
