Welcome to the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) Savannah Section.
The southeastâs low country has over 200 members. The Savannah section has held meetings regularly during our varied 65+year history. We serve Electrical and Electronics Engineers from the southeast counties of Georgia and three southern counties in South Carolina, for a 50-mile radius. The major industries in the area are Aerospace Manufacturing, Agricultural, and Heavy Equipment Manufacturing, Electric Power, Laser Manufacturing, Liquefied Natural Gas, Marine Container Cargo, Pulp and Paper Manufacturing, Refined Sugar Manufacturing, Space and Defense and Warehousing.
Engineers/scientists from these industries have found the meetings to be most informative and helpful to our careers. Cooperation with other professional societies like the Instrument Society of America, Coastal Empire Section, and Society of Women Engineers (SWE) provide an expanded opportunity to “network” with our peers. Georgia Southern University, Savannah State University, Savannah Tech, and formally Armstrong Atlantic State University are the main universities that are involved in the IEEE Savannah section.
