Participate & Celebrate IEEE Day 2022 !!!!
IEEE Day is an annual event that celebrates the first time in history when engineers worldwide gathered to share their technical ideas in 1884. One of the IEEE Day’s objectives is to show the ways IEEE members, in local communities, join to collaborate on ideas that leverage technology for a better tomorrow. IEEE Day is celebrated on the first Tuesday in October. This year, IEEE Day will take place on 4 October, 2022.
All IEEE members can celebrate IEEE Day! Participating in local IEEE Day events, hosted by the local IEEE Section or IEEE Student Branch, is a great way to meet and collaborate with those who share the same passion and enthusiasm about technology and IEEE.
Submit your events on vtools: This year, all IEEE Day events are to be submitted with vtools. Please visit www.ieeeday.org and follow the link to submit your event. Don’t forget to add the keyword #ieeeday in your event form. Events can be celebrated anywhere between 1st October 2022 and 15th October 2022
Note: For vtools event submission, only active IEEE members reported as officers can submit an event (chair, vice chair, secretary, treasurer, counselor, advisor etc.)
Participate in contests: This year there are two contests: Photo and Video Contest. while you can find all details on the website, here are some things to keep in mind:
There are 3 categories in Photo Contest: STEM, Technical and Social
There are 2 categories in Video Contest: Short (10-30 Seconds) and Long (60-90 Seconds) video
All entries should contain the latest IEEE Day logo in it. The logo should not be photoshopped nor should it be edited into the picture afterward.
All entries should show IEEE members and their IEEE Day celebrations.
The Contest Entry submission period is from 1st October 2022 to 15th October 2022
Winners will be decided through voting. Voting will start from 16th October 2022 until 24th October 2022.
All OUs (Student branch, Student branch chapter, Society Chapters, Sections, Sub-sections, Regions) can participate in these contests.
Announcements of winners will be done once the voting is over. Winning OUs will receive a cash award as mentioned on the website.

Call for Proposals – IEEE R10 Young Professionals Student-YP Joint Activity Fund 2022 – Round 2 (by 5 August 2022)
Dear All,
With the aim to improve Student members’ retention and transition to Young Professionals as well as increase the bond between students and YPs, IEEE R10 Young Professionals would like to Call for a Proposal for the Student – YP Joint Activity Fund 2022 – Round 2.
Proposals submitted must fulfill all the criteria in order to be eligible for the grant. The activities could be organized in any format including Face-to-Face, virtual or hybrid modes.
The activity must be in alignment with IEEE R10 Young Professionals Committee goals of conducting one of the following:
- Career Development Activities (Career Fair/Workshops/Industry Forums)
- Coaching on Further Study After Graduation
- Entrepreneurship Activities/workshops
- Development of innovative applications (YP should be the team lead/mentor).
Funding Limits:
- Face-to-Face activities: A maximum of US$ 400*
- Hybrid (face-to-face and virtual) activities: A maximum of US$ 400*
- Virtual activities: A maximum of US$ 250*
- If the event is conducted by a council, the limit is different. Please refer to the website for further details.
* subjected to IEEE Region 10 matching funding policy.

- Encourage sections with financial incentives to roll out meaning MD Activities.
- Membership growth and retention
- Increase the participation of branch officers to train more volunteers

- Motivate the encouraging and Technology professionals to join the IEEE community
Project Description

- Membership growth based on conducting Membership Development Activities
- Evaluation criteria: proposals will be evaluated based on the explanation of the proposal requisites aiming to increase, retain and elevation of Memberships and Year-on-year membership growth. (Please refer to the corresponding Submission MDC template file in which its proposal requisites are specified.)
Project Milestones leading to completion
- Measure of membership growth and retention at the end of membership cycle 31st Aug 2022
- Measure of growth in members elevating to senior member grades at 31st Aug 2022
- Measure of growth in Student members elevating to Young Professionals at 31st Aug 2022

Note
- A section is not allowed to obtain funding for more than one project under the MDC project 2.
- In the case of virtual events, the virtual events shall be hosted via any online platform (e.g. Webex, Zoom, Youtube, Google Meet and any Platform. Virtual events should be recorded and the recorded file should be submitted.
- The final report should include a brief flow of the event & the related photos, the attended number of participants and the statistical results of the membership growth or retention.
- The reimbursement of fund will be transferred to each section via NextGen system of IEEE only upon receiving items: Final Report, Finance/Expense Report, All Receipts and Event Recordings(only applicable for virtual activities)
