José Alejandro Díaz-Méndez received the Ph.D. in electronics from the National Institute of Astrophysics, Optics and Electronics (INAOE), Puebla, México, in 1999. He is currently a Full Researcher in the Integrated Circuit Design group from the Electronics Department, INAOE, México. He has been with the Postgraduate Studies Section at Instituto Politécnico Nacional, México, from 1999 to 2001. Since 2001, he has been with INAOE.
His research interests are on analog integrated circuits and systems for biomedical applications, adaptive circuits and systems, interfaces for sensors systems. He has written more than 40 published papers on journals and more than 90 conference proceedings and four books chapters. Dr. Díaz was recipient of Outstanding Volunteer Award in 2016 from IEEE Puebla Section, and Outstanding Volunteer Award “Oscar C. Fernandez” from IEEE Latin America in 2017, for his contributions to Pre-university Education. He was Founder and President of the IEEE Puebla Section from 2004 to 2005. President of IEEE Mexico Council from 2012-2013. Founder and President of IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Puebla Chapter, since 2016. Currently, he is Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Latin America Transactions. He is Senior member of IEEE since 2001, and National Researcher of National Council of Science and Technology of México.
