Agenda – IEEE Region 5 Annual Committee Meeting, 2017
IEEE Region 5 Annual Meeting
Welcome to the 2017 Region 5 Annual Meeting held in Denver. Each year, Region 5 holds an annual meeting to conduct region business such as approving the Executive Committee roster, vote on the annual budget, and other required business. All 26 sections in the region are invited to send a voting representative and participate in information and training activities. The Region 5 Annual Business Meeting is held in conjunction with Region 5 Student Competitions include:
- Robotics (http://site.ieee.org/robocomp2017/)
- Student Papers
- Ethics
- Circuit Design
The Region exists to make sections more successful, provide resources beyond basic section funding, link to IEEE and
IEEE-USA support, share best practices, provide training, and open channels to new ideas that provide increased value to
members.
The annual meeting is structured to accomplish this and to provide a feedback forum for sections to express their highest
priority needs.
Since 2013 we have also added an additional training session on Sunday morning to provide sections with information on
ways to be more effective and to create more member value opportunities. These sessions will be led by various
members of the Region Excom Committee.
General regional information can be found on the region website http://ieeer5.org and more detailed information can
be found at the region community site http://ieee-region5.oc.ieee.org. Your IEEE login and registration in the online
community is required. Region Excom and Primary Section Delegates ONLY may register by clicking here (coming soon).
Our goal is 100% participation by the sections and expectation that each section representative will take away at least 2
new ideas to implement, each R5 Executive Committee member will identify at least 3 new section contacts to work with,
and each section will nominate at least 1 new member to become more active in the region.
Look forward to seeing you in Denver
