Head to the Bay State for SPCE 2017

Call for presentations open until August 15

The 2017 IEEE Symposium on Product Safety Engineering (SPCE 2017), hosted by IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society (PSES) is on the books for November 6 through 7 in the Boston area (Boxboro Regency, Boxborough, Mass.) featuring in depth-education from industry thoughts leaders and exhibits targeted to enlighten engineers and related technical disciplines on compliance, product safety and regulatory engineering, testing and certification.

SPCE-2017SPCE 2017 is a forum for product safety engineers and design engineers to share the latest technical information relevant to product safety while enhancing skills and expertise from information gleaned from local and global experts. The IEEE Symposium will bring attendees up to speed on the latest competencies in engineering product safety and prepare members for the future with analysis into areas such as wireless technologies, regulations, the environment and energy storage and issues or challenges affecting product design and engineering system safety. In addition, attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibitors, who include manufacturers, service providers and engineering firms entrenched in product compliance, safety and design during the two-day gathering.

Call for Papers

Papers from authors are currently being accepted for the Symposium and potential presenters have until August 15 to submit their topic. Authors are invited to submit a full paper (five to six pages) reporting original research of theoretical or applied nature using the online submission system, EDAS. Authors of accepted subject matter must submit the final paper version according to the deadline, register for the workshop and personally attend the Symposium to make the presentation. Final presenters will be notified by August 29, with the presentation deadline scheduled for September 15. Accepted presentations are designed to chronicle trends from across the globe, bringing timely, relevant topics from notable colleagues and subject matter experts in a variety of engineering disciplines.

Of course, you’ll want to explore the nearby town of Boston, only 35 miles away and easily accessible. There are many historical landmarks and recreational areas, including Fenway Park, one of the last remaining original ballparks in the U.S. and Boston Harbor, site of the Boston Tea Party, so you won’t want to miss traveling to this state for product safety engineering education and fun.
