A note on the Microwave and Radar Week 2024
MIKON and IRS conference as part of Microwave and Radar Week 2024 – we invite you to the next edition of MRW 2026, Krakow (Poland).
The 11th Microwave and Radar Week (MRW-2024) was held in Wroclaw at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, Poland. The event comprises two parallel conferences: MIKON-2024 (25th International Microwave and Radar Conference) and IRS-2024 (International Radar Symposium).
MIKON is a traditional conference of the Polish microwave community that has been organized since 1969 and turned into an international event in 1994. The conference is held under the auspices of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers IEEE. In 1994, thanks to the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society support, MIKON received international conference status. During the MIKON 2024 conference, there were Focused Sessions such as Microwaves and Material, Technical Writing and Speaking, and Women in Microwaves.
IRS 2024 is a continuation of a very successful sequence of Radar Symposia, which started in 1998 in Munich, Germany, organized by Prof. Hermann Rohling. The International Radar Symposium aims to provide a forum for both academic and industrial professionals in radar from all over the world and to bring together academicians, researchers, engineers, system analysts, and graduate and undergraduate students with government and non-government organizations to share and discuss both theoretical and practical knowledge. During the IRS 2024 conference, there were Focused Sessions such as Noise/LPI radar, EW for radar technology, Radar techniques for SSA and spaceborne radars, Passive radar technology, Recent progress in automotive radar, and Multi-dimensional radar imaging.
Authors of original papers presented at MRW2024 could submit an expanded version of their paper to special post-conference issues of one of the following two journals, popular among the microwave and radar communities, respectively.
- IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques (T-MTT, aiming for post-MIKON papers),
- MDPI Remote Sensing (aiming for post-IRS papers).
In addition, a Young Scientist Contest for the best MIKON 2024 and IRS 2024 conference papers was held as part of the MRW 2024. As well as for the participants of two conferences, there was a special event for Young scientists organized with the support of the Polish Joint Chapter AP/AES/MTT.
We cordially invite all scientists and graduate and undergraduate students to participate in the next edition of MRW 2026 in Krakow.
