**** Leadership Changes and Call for Nominations ****

The working group typically has a Change of the Guard every two years and we’ve come to that point.  Dr Henry Louie will be now become Chair, while Peter Dauenhauer will be moving to the Immediate Past Chair position.  Nirupama Prakash Kumar will remain as Engagement Officer.  We therefore have two positions which we would welcome any nominees: Secretary and co-Chair.  For both position we would like persons who are passionate about the working group activities and would have the time to commit to setting out research areas and following this through.

**** Call for New Research Areas ****

Over the past two years, we have focused on the development of the PES IEEE SIGHT Group (in which SESDC Chairs), creation of an off-grid energy use data repository, and our initial work on a micro-grid pre-feasibility toolkit.  As we go into 2019/20, we are requesting that you help us identify where the next interesting area of research should be for the working group.  In the past these have formed the basis for Task Forces that are setup to achieve tangible outputs, such as journal papers or panel sessions.  To this end, please see the *very quick* survey below that hopes to capture some initial ideas the leadership has put forward.  Please do add your own input.
