Following a 10 year career in the BC Forest Industry, Darren joined AltaLink in 2010 as a Right of Way Planner. In 2012 he joined their project management team working on a variety of AESO Direct Assign transmission line and substation projects. If you’ve driven on Highway 2 between Calgary and Edmonton you’ve driven under transmission lines that Darren has built or rebuilt. Darren’s current focus at AltaLink includes the Wildfire Mitigation program that he will talk about today, a Line Clearance Mitigation Program, as well as a handful of Direct Assign transmission projects.
