Aatif Baskanderi is the Innovation Portfolio Manager leading the ‘Utility of the Future’ new product strategy and development. Before ATCO, he worked at Innovate Calgary as a Commercialization Manager advising energy entrepreneurs on establishing their business models.
Aatif has a diverse multi-sector career, including leading the UK’s innovation portfolio in the Prairies, malaria prevention in Sierra Leone, and designing smartphones at Blackberry. He also made a documentary film about Newfoundland.
He is a licensed Engineer in Alberta and a Project Management Professional. He holds a B.Eng Electrical Engineering and Master of Technology Management from Memorial University and a M.Sc. Social Policy and Development from the London School of Economics.
