A session on artificial intelligence in solar power was held on Sept. 21, 2018, at Ambedkar Audi, Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) University, Vellore, India. It was organized by the IEEE PES VIT Vellore SB chapter to enhance the knowledge of AI in solar panel among the students.
On June 21, 2018, Panama UTP PES Student Branch Chapter and Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá celebrated together the first UTP-IEEE PES innovation forum.

The IEEE Guanajuato and Queretaro Joint Sections PES Chapter organized a Two-Day long Technical Workshop titled “Short Circuit Calculation and their Applications” during August 24-25, 2018 at Queretaro City.
On September 6th the Columbus, Ohio PES Chapter was honored to host PES President Saifur Rahman as part of the Distinguished Lecturer Program (DLP). Approximately 50 people attended the event at AEP Transmission’s headquarters.
The activity and accomplishments of the Electric Machinery Committee continued in 2017 at a high level with contributions in terms of industrial standards, panel sessions, paper submissions, liaisons, and engagement in new initiatives.

As we do annually, the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES) members and other industry enthusiasts came together for the General Meeting from Aug. 5-9, 2018. Over 3,200 attendees converged on Portland, OR, USA, in order to provide new insights, innovative ideas and answers to some of the most intriguing and important questions facing the power industry today.
