IEEE PES China Chapters Council (PCCC) Smart Buildings, Loads, and Customer Systems (SBLC) Satellite Committee’s inaugural meeting was held with the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Academic Conference on Science and Technology.

On 11th December, 2021, the opening ceremony of the 3rd International Academic Conference on Science and Technology and the Inaugural Meeting of IEEE PES China Chapters Council Smart Buildings, Loads, and Customer Systems (SBLC) Satellite Committee was held at Guangzhou Yuexiu International Congress Center. Under the theme “pooling together global wisdom of scientific innovation to reach high-quality development of the academic ecosystem,” this event was organized in a hybrid “online plus offline” mode, involving a major session and several parallel sessions. Over 500 experts invited from well-known China’s universities, research institutes and Companies attended the meeting. This event drew an audience of 20,000 who take part via the AiScholar livestream platform.

Under the guidance of IEEE PES China Chapters Council (PCCC) and Guangzhou Association for Science & Technology, the conference was jointly sponsored by South China University of Technology (SCUT), Guangdong AIS Information Academic Exchange Research Institute, Guangzhou Institute of Engineers, AEIC Academic Exchange Information Center and other organizations. Professor Jizhong Zhu, Fellow of IEEE from SCUT Chaired this meeting, and was also elected as the Chair of IEEE PCCC SBLC Satellite Committee. Over 20 international experts, such as IEEE elected President Professor Saifur Rahman, FIEEE, Dr. Jay Giri, Professor Joe Dong, IEEE PES TC elected Chair Hong Chen, and IEEE PES SBLC Chair Professor Johanna Mathieu sent the greeting videos to congratulate the meeting.

The mission of the committee is to build an academic exchange platform, boost scientific and technological innovation in the field of SBLC technology, and promote its steady and vigorous development in China and beyond. Its establishment is not only a big innovation in IEEE history, but an embodiment of the conference to play the role of bridge and foster international academic exchanges on power and energy. The committee works to push forward energy development in the new era, drive the discussion and exchange of power and energy between China and foreign countries, and support worldwide scientific and technological innovation in the SBLC technology.
