In the Voice of Governing Board Section, we are honored to present an informative article titled “Technical Activities Update: Entity Proposal Management” written by Professor Vijay Vittal, PES Vice President, Technical Activities. He informed about the IEEE PES Entity Proposal Management (EPM) Committee formed by the IEEE PES Technical Council in 2020. The article explained the activities of the EPM committee, which is focused on streamlining the review process of entity proposals.

We received an update from the PES Humanitarian Activity Committee about the four days long first PES-HAC Congress that was held in October on a theme “Sustainable Energy for Smart Future”. The article covers the detail activities of the congress where there were 27 speakers, 110 ambassadors, and more than 1400 registered participants from 55 countries.

PES Guanajuato and Queretaro joint section chapter in Mexico organized an online course on distribution and power transformers. It was conducted by PES Distinguished Lecturer Guillermo Rodriguez who was the President of ABB Central America and the Caribbean.

An article from the PES student branch chapter at the University of Manchester contains the detailed description of a recent event, namely Manchester Energy and Electrical Power System (MEEPS) Symposium 2021 and its theme was ‘Power Systems in a Post-Pandemic Era’.

IEEE PES/IAS joint SB Chapter at Amrita School of Engineering, Bengaluru, India updated about their week-long PES Day celebration which consisted of various webinars and a panel. PES SB Chapter at MESCE reported one of their co-hosted webinar at WoW 2.0 on climate change where the speaker was Shay Bahramirad, PES President-Elect 2022-23. Activities containing information about a 2-weeks long workshop on renewable energy and 36 hours long Ideathon on UN SDGs, where IEEE PES/IAS joint SBC is involved, are reported. PES SB Chapter of University of Moratuwa presented one of their initiatives a career guidance program EE–Influx which covered various sessions on project management, entrepreneurship and product development.
