During the first half of 2021 I participated in planning, coordination and organization of Distinguished Lecture Programs (DLPs) in different countries in the region. Due to Coronavirus a bigger number of DLPs have been organized in the region compared to previous years.

Most of the conferences and other events were conducted virtually and while the remote meetings were not as effective as face-to-face meetings, they could reach out to a larger population and provide wider coverage.

Asia Power and Energy Engineering Conference (ACPEE 2021) was held in Chongqing, China during April 8-11, 2021.

IEEE PES China Chapter Council Annual Meeting was conducted on May 15, 2021. During the meeting many chapters in China attended and discussed the matters related to the PES and several technical committees’ interests.

PES India Chapters Council launched its logo and organised a Webinar on “Operation of Modern Power Systems under Uncertain Conditions”. Many other webinars were organised by different chapters in the region.

PES India Council organized a virtual IEEE PES Global Workshop on 22nd &  23rd July 2021. This workshop was organized by PES India Chapters Council in association with IEEE India Council, IEEE Standards Association and PES-IAS Chapter, Pune.

Workshop Theme: Electric Vehicle – Grid Integration: Opportunities, Challenges and Remedial Measures

Format of the Workshop: 4 Technical Sessions. Each session will comprise of a keynote talk of 30 minutes and panel discussion of 90 minutes, with experts from North America, Europe, Asia, ASEAN countries, Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands.

IEEE PES Bangalore Chapter in association with IEEE IAS Bangalore Chapter & POSOCO will jointly present two-day workshop on 17 and 18th September on “Cyber Security management of IT/OT/IOT in Power systems & utilities”.
