IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Student Branch Chapter University of Moratuwa has organized online article writing competition. E-Article Competition has opened for all the Sri Lankan University undergraduates whose Universities have IEEE Student Branch or Chapter. The topic was “How should the power and energy sector changes for the future challenges after COVID-19 pandemic”. The topic was a very timely topic with great importance. Students got an opportunity to express their ideas through writings. The registration and submission were opened from 14th August, 2020 to 22nd August, 2020.

The undergraduates were awarded on 30th August 2020 under the event title. The articles were judged by the lectures of the University of Moratuwa. They considered creativity, writing skill, and organization of the articles during the evaluation.

Changa Heshani Hettiararchchi Kankanamge from IEEE Student Branch Kotelawala Defence University was the winner of the competition. First, runner-up was Wenaida Waduge Vidyani Kaushalya Gunarathne from IEEE Wayamba University of Sri Lanka Student Branch. Sameend Sameed Fathima Husna from IEEE Student Branch University of Moratuwa was the second runner-up of the competition.

The Winner, First Runner-up, and Second Runner-up received cash prizes of Rs.2500, Rs.1500 and Rs.1000 respectively. The top five writers received e-certificates and the top three articles were posted on the IEEE PES Student Branch Chapter University of Moratuwa Facebook page.
