Claudio Canizares,
Fellow of IEEE, Professor and Hydro One Endowed Chair, Department of ECE, University of Waterloo, Canada and the Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, was elected as the 2021 Division VII Direct-elect. He will serve on the IEEE Board of Directors in 2022/2023, succeeding Miriam Sanders who has served as the 2020/2021 Division VII Director.

Bruno Meyer, Fellow of IEEE, a Consultant in Energy and Telecommunications, and a retired Senior Executive Officer at RTE, the French Power Grid Operator (2016-2019) and IEEE Division VII Director (2018-19), was elected as the 2021 IEEE Technical Activities Vice President-Elect. He served as PES Governing Board member during 2017-19 and 2005-08. The other candidate for this position was F. D. “Don” Tan, Fellow of IEEE, Distinguished Engineer/Senior Staff Manager with Northrop Grumman Space Systems, USA.
