The IEEE Student Branch NSS College of Engineering took an initiative providing food for 50 people at Parachathi, a tribal colony 4 K.M ahead of Malampuzha. The colony was deeply hit by the soil erosion due to the flood that happened in Kerala in 2018 . The condition of the local resident there was pitiful and there was no response from the government side.

The location was scheduled as a part of the ‘PES 0 Hunger day Celebration’. A team of 20 volunteers led by Abhinav Rajeev and Swathi Sree volunteered for the programme. There were locals from native colony, to help to prepare the meals. 15 Kgs of Rice was cooked and served at the ‘Parachathi’ Colony. On return, the team took the initiative to stop the soil erosion at the place by planting the saplings of ‘Kaitha’ along the riverside. The whole program proved to be successful in putting a smile on their faces.
