The IEEE PES NCU Student Branch started its journey very recently but has had a significant impact on the university. The chapter organised two events – a workshop and a humanitarian event. A workshop on ‘MATLAB and its Applications’ was conducted on 23rd September 2019 to cognise the students about the versatility of the software and its numerous applications in various domains. The speaker for the event was Mr. Akhilesh Kumar, who currently serves as the Assistant Manager Technical Support at DesignTech Systems Ltd.

The recent event on ‘A Food Donation Drive’ was conducted in the campus to promote IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day initiative and support the noble cause of achieving Zero Hunger around the world. The week-long drive concluded with a staggering donation of 50 kg of food from the students as well as faculty and staff members. All the food was donated to Literacy India Vidyapeeth, a non-profit organisation that works for the betterment of underprivileged women and children, empowering them to become self-reliant. The volunteers, along with IEEE PES Zero Hunger Day Student Ambassador Mr. Arup Parida, visited the NGO where they interacted with the children and women and handed them the collected food items.

The Team aspires to broaden its horizons by organizing more events that benefit their fellow students and the community.
