13th IEEE PowerTech 2019 Panel Session

I was very delighted when I got email saying that I was awarded an IEEE PES Student Grant to attend PowerTech Conference in Milan, and I should certainly admit – it was an extraordinary experience. As a PhD student with research focus on Power System Flexibility, I found conference topics very interesting and useful for my research. During the conference, I attended presentations given by high-level scholars from academia as well as experts and practitioners from leading energy companies. Keynote speeches and industry panels, followed by interesting discussions, have given me valuable insight into future trends in power sector.

Participating in this event was unique experience from the academic as well as personal point of view. Beside interesting and useful presentations, I enjoyed connecting with other attendees during social events after the sessions. As a special added value of this event I find the opportunity to network with other researchers, practitioners and students, which is an exceptional opportunity for horizontal exchange of experience. It’s always exciting to get the insights from industry people about future movements in power sector. I believe that networking is very important in engineering. It adds new ideas, different perspectives, and additional approaches that can lead to an innovative solution.

The conference was very well organized and I am very grateful to be given an opportunity to attend PowerTech Conference in Milan. I really recognize the value of being member of IEEE Power and Energy Society.
