This project provides an improvement in education quality through the solidification of the knowledge of the high and elementary school students by theoretical and practical activities.

In the execution period of this MDI project was developed activities aimed at both high and elementary school students. In which, it was intended to provide an improvement on education quality through the solidification of the knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry acquired theoretical and practical way with lectures, classes and use of teaching kits.

The structure of the project applied in the high school consisted in an initial lecture to present the objective of this MDI and explore themes related to the labor market and the area of expertise of professionals in the exact sciences. Subsequently, the theoretical classes of mathematics were initiated approaching a review with exercises of the essential subjects on mathematics and fundamental in the subsequent stages of the project.

However, in this stage, the students presented difficulty due to an educational deficit in basic school subjects caused mainly by the lack of basic mathematics. Since the students have understood over these contents the theoretical classes of physics was initiated. This subject focused on the analysis of electrical circuits, due to its importance in the context of engineering and various applications. In this perspective, to provide practical activities the educational Kit Snap Circuit® of EDS society was used, allowing the performance of the modeling and assembly of these circuits, in a simple, direct and concrete way.

This same methodology was used to chemistry too. The theoretical classes were given to ensure the student’s technical knowledge of the phenomena associated with the generation of energy through solar sources, fuel cells and hydrolysis. After that, to concretize the learning process was used the Renewable Energy Science Kit of Horizon Education, that allows the demonstration and assembly of processes for the generation of clean energy, such as the transformation of the hydrogen into electricity, of a practical way.

Furthermore, was realized a technical visit to Federal University of Paraíba – UFPB, where the students were encouraged to join the university and could have direct contact with some projects and researches that were being developed. Lastly, it was proposed to the students the development of sustainable projects that would solve perceptible problems in daily school life. For this, was realized meetings, discussed and directed study to monitor the development of the project.

The application of this RES project with children required the purchase of more educational kits to make the interaction and explanation of concepts more playful. So that in this manner, the themanics addressed in the RES project had more diversity and could increase the possibilities of project approach. Before that we developed the activities with the students, two training sessions were held with the PES members, so that they were trained in the assembly and operation of the new kits.

This time was opted to develop this activity in a shorter way, through punctual encounters with students of 3rd and 4th grade of elementary of public schools. Initially, the PES members promoted an explain by a lecture that a contextualized way about some types of energy. In order to build collaborative learning among the listeners, after the lecture the kits were utilized to approach topics such as global warming and various sources of clean energy in a playful and illustrative way.

This MDI project was finalized after the application of RES with children in two different schools. In which the motivation and the interest of the children can be observed since this is usually the first practical contact they have with the subjects addressed.

After the finalization of this MDI project, the public had the opportunity to reflect on changes in the environment. That way we collaborated with the technological and humanitarian development of the world providing a quality education for all involved, emphasizing the importance of all themes worked and motivating the girls in the exact sciences.

In conclusion, this MDI project provides the growth of all involved because the members involved with the organization and execution of the activities developed skills and experiences while the participants gained new knowledge. The kits acquired in this project will continue to be used in subsequent since positive results indicators are noticeable through the organization, planning, and quality in the activities developed.
