All Hyderabad Power and Energy Society Student Congress (AHPESSC’18) is the First Section Level event to be organized by IEEE PES/IAS/PELS Joint Chapter Hyderabad Section in association with IEEE GPREC PES SB chapter. This remarkable event succeeded at bringing together like-minded personalities from various PES Student Chapters across Hyderabad Section and created the interaction between student members, young professional and expert speakers. This 2-day event comprised of interesting sessions aimed at the enhancement of technological awareness and professional ethics by reputable speakers.

Theme: The theme of this year AHPESSC was “Harnessing the nature to Power and Energize Societies – Weaving connections”.

The success of a congress is judged by the intellectual congregation and production of knowledge. AHPESSC’18, witnessed overwhelming participation of delegates. A total of 150 Delegates attended the congress from different IEEE student branches of Hyderabad section. The two day congress started with the inaugural ceremony of IEEE All Hyderabad Power and Energy Society Student Congress (AHPESSC’18) commenced with lightening of lamp and bouquet presentation as a signature of welcome to all the dignitaries on the dais.

Session 1

Speaker: Jagannadha Sarma garu
Event description: He spoke on Theme topic- Electrical Power and energy requirements in village and rural areas in India, Status and rural Trends and also about village electrification, micro grids, pros and cons of solar energy along with Appropriate reasons to promote renewable energy.

Session 2

Speaker: Kodandha Ramamoorthy garu
Event description: Speaker shared his information on power projects in Andhra Pradesh and evolution of wind and solar power projects

Session 3

Speaker: Abhirama Krishna
Event description: Speaker joined us for a very eloquent talk on “What industry expects from Engineering graduate” and explained the practical approach towards problem solving in industry. He concluded the talk with briefing about the opportunities in sales, Marketing and Management fields.

Session 4

After the series of Technical talks, a team event was organized on Developing a Practical and Technical solution to the theme “Let’s work together towards A greener planet”. The main objective of conducting this event was to develop technical solutions by using resources of power and Energy. At the end of each informative session, the speakers were felicitated with a token of appreciation.

Second Day

The second day of AHPESSC’18 started with the same excitement and enthusiasm. A series of talks, discussions and many innovative events happened throughout the day ended with IEEE DAY Celebrations, valedictory, cultural night and gala dinner. In the series of talks by renowned speakers the first talk of the day was Dr. B S Viswanatha who spoke on “Automation of Thermal Power plants” and its advantages and next session was by P.V.S Maruti Rao and Ms. shaik suraiah Thaseen.

John Benedict Boggala spoke on “IEEE Power and Energy Society Membership benefits”. He started his talk by mentioning the things what he learned and got from IEEE. He also explained IEEE PES Scholarship initiatives, PES conferences happening across the globe and he ended his talk by talking about IEEE PES Student Congress and IEEE PES Networking without borders project. After the series of talks IEEE DAY Celebrations were celebrated in “All Hyderabad power and Energy society Student congress.

Finally, the two-day congress was ended with valedictory function. Report of the congress was given by G.Vijaya Bhaskar, Event coordinator. Then, students were asked to give feedback about the congress. It was immense pleasure to hear such a positive feedback by the delegates that they have been a lot benefited by attending the congress that improved technical skills as well as networking.

Certificates were presented to participants and volunteers from other student branches. The closing ceremony concluded with thank ful phrases for every individual who contributed directly or indirectly towards making of this congress a grandeur one. The closing ceremony ended by singing the National Anthem.
