The Global PES Day was celebrated on 23^rd April 2018 at Kumaran Conference Hall, Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Kongu Engineering College, Erode, Tamil Nadu, India. Dr. T. Guna Sekar, Faculty Co-ordinator, PES welcomed the members for the PES day celebration and gave an insight to PES day celebration.

In continuation of the PES day celebration, a brand PES cake was cut by Dr. N. Senthilnathan, Professor and Head, Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Dr. N. Nithyavathy, Branch Counselor of IEEE student chapter, Mr. S. Rithubaran, IEEE-Chair student branch, Mr. S. Abinesh, Vice Chair PES student chapter along with other PES volunteers.

Professor’s like Dr. R.  Meenakumari, Dr. A. Sheela, Dr. S. Albert Alexander, Ms. R. Sasikala, Ms. N. Priyadarshini, Mr. M. Sabarimuthu and Mr. R. Ranjith Kumar facilitate the function and their presence made the event a grand success. Mr. S. Abinesh gave brief overview about the importance of PES day celebration and made a presentation about the role of PES members in enhancing the technological transfer for electrification in rural areas and PES WiP.

Mr. S. Rithubaran discussed about the opportunities and availability of funding for the student projects in PES. His presentation gave an insight to the student members about the project funding schemes and utilization of funds for the betterment of technological application. The number of participants was 32.

At the end of the celebration, all the members were taken an oath of “More Power to Future” and concluded the session with vote of thanks.
