This year has started off with a lot of plans, and needless to say this year looks to be the busiest yet.

PES-YP will host a first ever YP-panel session at the upcoming IEEE T&D conference in Denver, Colorado on 21st April, between to 3.15 to 5.15 pm. The conference is one of the largest and most influential IEEE conferences across the world. Thus, participation in the panel session will expose the speaker to a very large audience. The panel highlights the works, struggles, and success-strategies for PES early career engineers, researchers and energy industry professionals and provides an opportunity for the participant to hear and share their innovations, research progress, and learn about the projects they’ve been working on. The panel session will be followed by an informal meet-and-greet to further promote the opportunities of networking for young professionals. This year’s speakers include PES-YP Past-Chair Aaron St. Leger, Brandon Dubois of Omicron, Janson Ferrera of Burns and McDonnell, and PES-YP Region 2 Representative BalaBharadwaj.

The PES-YP is also sponsoring the first ever PES-Day on April 22, 2018, please visit http://site.ieee.org/pes-day-2018/ for details about events, contests and how YPs are celebrating around the globe.

We are also happy to announce the 2nd PES-YP sponsored “Milestelfie” Photo contest http://site.ieee.org/pes-yp/milestelfies-photo-contest/. This year’s contest will run May 1 through Sept. 15, 2018.
