The PES Student Congress is an opportunity for student leaders from various student branch chapters to get together to discuss best practices, share experiences, listen to and participate in technical talks, and to interact with senior PES leaders and volunteers.  Hosted by the IEEE Middle East Technical University (METU) Student Branch, the 1st PES Student Congress took place in Ankara, Turkey, on August 29-31, 2014. It covered technical lectures, a fair, PES non-technical workshops, and technical and historical field trips. 40 students from 22 countries participated. The 2nd PES Student Congress took place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on August 15-17, 2016.  It was another great success, with 68 student representatives from 24 countries attending technical and professional development lectures, social and technical events.

PES now invites proposals to host the 2017 PES Student Congress for the US and Canada, covering regions 1 through 7.  It is noted that PES will provide organizational and financial support to the hosting entity.  For any questions or comments, please contact Dr. Danijel Topic (danijel.topic.hr@ieee.org), PES Student Chapters Coordinator, and/or Dr. Valentina Cecchi (vcecchi@uncc.edu), PES Student Chapter Coordinator for Regions 1–7.
