Mehran Student Inauguration Ceremony

Foreword:
6 February 2013 was the inaugural day of Power & Energy Society at Department Electrical Engineering, Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Jamshoro-Pakistan. This grand ceremony was held in gorgeous auditorium of university, the event remained the focus of university activities on that day. Every student was seen heading towards the event venue at 11.00 am which was time of commencement of the event. Moreover, inaugural ceremony was attended by 600 students of the Electrical engineering faculty of the university.
To make the event successful and to make dream come true of society formation at electrical department teachers along with students did team work enthusiastically for 7 days. Especially IEEE MUET Student branch counselor Prof. Dr. Bhawani Shankar Chowdhry took arduous efforts in order to accomplish the purpose.
Ceremony:
Ceremony made divine beginning with versus of Holy Qura’an (Holy Book of Muslims) in the presence of executive officers of Mehran University, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Uqailli, Dean Faculty of Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering (FEECE) Prof. Dr. BS.Chowdhry, Chairman Electrical Department Prof. Dr. Abdul SattarLarik, Faculty members of Electrical Department and 600 students.
After the addresses of executives, society was officially inaugurated by a single click on an animated video. The countdown was followed by a set of virtual fireworks, animated video was the turning event of the ceremony and forced everyone to stand up and cheer the roof off. The video was made by Muhammad Ali an IEEE member.
After Inauguration, it was time to apprise students about the objectives of IEEE PES. A lecture was delivered to serve this purpose by Mr. Moiz Rehman Memon IEEE-RDP at MUET. He told the pros and cons of being an IEEE member. He told student benefits and exposed the student resources available at platform of IEEE. He also mentioned importance of being part of any society and how it may help us in our future endearments. This session was gripping, everyone was glued in and were absorbing all they could about IEEE and PES.
A technical seminar was arranged alongside the inaugural ceremony and was conducted in the end. This seminar was primarily focusing “The Smart Grid and its applications”. It was delivered by PhD. Scholar, Engr. Irfan Ahmed Halepto. This seminar was primarily meant for the advertisement of IEEE-PES and also to reflect the basic objective of PES i.e. to be prime providers of any/all knowledge related to power and energy. His seminar included all the necessary knowledge regarding smart grids. Its importance, applicable criterion and the positive changes that it might produce etc.
When session of smart grid came to an end student organizers who worked to make this event successful were rewarded with certificates which were given by Chairman Electrical Department Pro. Dr. Abdull Sattar Larik.
Afterward, IEEE-PES student body was announced comprising of following posts and names of diligent students:
