Smart Cities are coming. Planners and technologists have been plotting the evolution of our cities for a number of years, with the goal of making cities significantly smarter within a decade. But we tend to forget that cities are living organisms whose existence extends well beyond our life, and the ones of our children. How will this movement stack up against historical context of previous evolutionary and revolutionary developments?

Most of the discussions center around the integration of Information and Computer Technology (ICT) into our physical infrastructure, municipal services, and industry. But we, as citizens, are becoming an “infrastructure”: for example, our social networks are creating a further overlapping fabric that can and will forever shape our cities.

In this webinar you will learn about:
• How ICT will be used to reshape cities
• The transformative impact of “citizens as infrastructure” on future cities
• How today’s excitement in smart cities be perceived centuries from now
