Naila has over five-year experience in Industry and her research interests include Embedded System Security, Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography and Information Security. She has been an active IEEE volunteer from past four years. She is a great advocate of gender diversity and has been promoting STEM in young high school students through Share-to-Inspire initiative.

Currently, she is serving as Chair IEEE NSW Women in Engineering (WIE) Affinity Group (AG) and Vice-Chair IEEE Computer Society NSW chapter. Previously, she has served as Chair IEEE Macquarie University (MQ) student branch (SB) WIE AG, Vice-chair IEEE NSW WIE AG, and Secretary IEEE MQ SB. She has actively participated in various technical and non-technical conferences and hosted/co-hosted the WIE track receptions, including Tensymp2018, ANZSCON 2017, IEEE WIE International Leadership Summit Brisbane, and MQ Leadership Summit.

She has collaboratively organized prolific events to promote gender diversity and inclusion, women empowerment, professional development, with other societies and sections. She was the recipient of Macquarie University Best Student Services award (2018), and IEEE WIE Inspiring student member of the year award (2019).
