Professor Francesca Iacopi, FIEAust, SMIEE, has over 20 years’ international industrial and academic expertise in the miniaturisation of semiconductor technologies, from interconnects, to electronic devices and packaging. Her focus is the translation of basic scientific advances into nanomaterials and device concepts into integrated technologies. Examples are porous dielectrics for interconnects, and graphene for on-chip applications. She is the Founder and Chair of the IEEE NSW Electron Devices Society Chapter, serves in the EDS Electronic Materials Committee, and the International Roadmap for Devices and Systems (IEEE IRDS). Recipient of a Global Innovation Award (2014), she was listed amongst the most innovative engineers by Engineers Australia (2018).

Francesca leads the Integrated Nanosystems Lab in the Faculty of Engineering and IT, University of Technology Sydney. She is an Associate Investigator of the ARC Centre of Excellence in Low-Energy Electronics Technologies (FLEET) and a Chief Investigator of the ARC CoE in Transformative Meta-Optical Systems (TMOS).
