2nd IEEE Section and Technical Meeting
The second IEEE Section/Technical Meeting was held in Julius Berger hall at the University of Lagos on the 1st of August, 2015. The section chair, Prof. Gloria Chukwudebe gave an opening speech that ushered the technical section of the meeting, which saw Engr. Augustin Duru speaking on “5G & IoTs as the Next Convergence”. He was followed by Engr. Olumuyiwa Falade who presented a paper titled: Power System & Equipment Earthing and Personal Safety. Afterwards, Engr. Jean Siemens talked on Protection Requirements for Smart Electrical Network. Engr. Tasiu Wudil rapped up the technical seminar with an interactive talk on Nigerian Electricity Supply and Installation Standards and Regulation.
The administrative section meeting started immediately after the close of the technical session, after which group photographs were taken. This was followed by the meetings of Affinity groups which were: Women in Engineering (WIE), Communication Society, Power Society, Computer Society and Young Professionals (YP). 183 people were in attendance.
