Data communication is one of the most important aspects of establishing an intelligent network. Not only in Smart Grid infrastructure, firewalls, and gateways, but also in network status monitoring, reliable data communication enables successful network operation. Energy sector is an attractive target for cyber attackers for its perceived high vulnerability, high impact outcome. In this talk, I will discuss the importance of security in Smart Grid Cyber-physical Systems and their evolution.
