Abstract: A Framework for Assessing Blockchain Applications in Healthcare
Blockchain use cases in the healthcare industry are starting to mature and greater attention to the potential of the technology to address public health challenges, such as COVID-19, are also emerging. However, ensuring that blockchain applications are “fit-for-purpose” for the heavily regulated and complex industry of healthcare is easier said than done. In this presentation, we will discuss a framework for assessing blockchain applications in healthcare with a focus on business blockchains and design constructs. We will also discuss healthcare blockchain research use cases and also what blockchain approaches have been suggested for addressing the COVID-19 pandemic.
