Frank Niedzwiedz (‘EE 82) directed the First Lego League (FLL) workshops at Christian Brothers University on August 22, 2015 and August 29, 2015. Frank was assisted by Dr. John Ventura (EE ‘65), Chris Nielsen (ECE ’07), Santiago Dopico (ECE & CS ‘19), Kenneth Brown (ECE ‘19), Gabrielle Cummings-Allen (CS ’19), Louis Sanchez (ECE ‘19), Melissa Dollar (ECE & Math ’16), Daniel Kohn (University of Memphis, FLL West TN Partner) and Tom Banning (University of Memphis, FLL West TN Partner). The CBU Electrical and Computer Engineering Department sponsored the workshop. Fourteen teachers, coaches, mentors, and parents that represented ten schools attended the workshops. FLL teams consist of 2 to 10 members of ages 9 to 14 and in the grades of 4 to 8. Teams must register in mid-September and The West TN FLL Championship will be held on Jan 23, 2016 at the University of Memphis UC 3rd floor (same location as previous years).
