Aim

The 3-minute of converter design competition is based on the premise that the capacity to present a clear, concise, and engaging description of their research is an essential skill that all graduate researchers should develop. It challenges postgraduate students to present their research in language appropriate to an intelligent in the space of three minutes.

Scope

This competition opens for postgraduate students only (PhD and Master by research) with research focus on power electronics converters and electric drives from public and private Institutions of Higher Learning (IHLs) in Malaysia.

Judges Criteria

• Should has research area in power electronics or electric drives.
• Has no point of interest in judged projects.
• Rubric for judges is as Attachment 1.
• Decision from the panels are final.

Submission and Participation

• Participant details: (i) Project Title, (ii) Project Scope, (iii) Name of Participant, (iv) Matric No., (v) Name of Academic Programme Enrolled, (vi) Name of Main Supervisor, (vii) Name of Institution
• Each participant should submit their (i) Three (3) minutes recorded video in mp4 format with clear audio and images and (ii) One (1) page infographic powerpoint slide (16:9 ratio, with the size of 33.867 cm x 19.05 cm) only in pdf format informing about the research.
• Each participant should submit all materials (3 minutes recorded video and one powerpoint slide in infographic form). The submission link: https://forms.gle/FMEJkoRg22tCca6bA
• Each project should provide design and results elements.
• Incomplete submission will be rejected.
• Each eligible project will be evaluated at least by two (2) panels.

Prizes

1^st prize = RM300.00 and certificate

2^nd prize = RM200.00 and certificate

3^rd prize = RM100.00 and certificate

• Deadline of Submission : 15 July 2021
• Notification of Results : 15 August 2021
