This hackathon was focused on Young Professionals and consists of a problem from the geoscience domain. The problem was designed to test skills on a variety of AI/ML tasks including data cleaning, data visualization, algorithm design, etc.

1st Prize: INR 15,000
2nd Prize: INR 10,000
3rd Prize: INR 5,000
The Event will have two Rounds:
Round 1: 03/03/2023 (8AM) to 09/03/2023 (11AM): Hackathon on Kaggle.com
Round 2: 11/03/2023 (10AM – 2PM): Presentation during Aarohon 2023 at NIT Durgapur
Participation in both rounds was mandatory for being awarded the prizes.
Round 1 Details:
The hackathon was be held on Kaggle.com(Link to be provided to registered participants). The competitors were required to predict the rainfall for 36 Indian regions in a monthly interval for the year 2015. Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) was used as the evaluation metric. Training data from 1901 to 2014 was provided for all 36 Indian regions.
Round 2 Details:
Shortlisted teams from round 1 gave a 10-minute presentation highlighting their solution to the given problem. Considering the solutions, only 1st and 2nd prizes were awarded.
