IEEE India Council is intended to act as a consortium of the Sections to do those delegated tasks that can be best done together by the Sections. In India, we have 12 IEEE sections with around 42000 members and this is the largest among Asia Pacific countries….

Call for applications/ nominations for IEEE India Council Awards - 2021
IEEE, world’s largest professional organisation, works for advancing Technology for Humanity. IEEE India Council (IC) acts as a consortium of 13 Sections in India which collectively have around 50000 members and this is the largest count among Asia Pacific countries. IEEE IC honours achievements of IEEE Members through Lifetime Achievement Awards, Volunteer Awards, Student Branch Awards, Technology (Industry) Awards, and Leadership Awards. The specific awards are constituted to recognize the individual or collective efforts of the membership in promoting the Mission and Vision of IEEE as reflected in the operation of the India Council and its entities, details of which are given at the following link along with eligibility criteria and application/ nomination process.
Applications/ nominations need to be submitted at the IEEE India Council Award Management Portal (http://www.ieeeicawards.com/) in time window of 30, October 2021 to 13, November 2021.

Nomination Committee Recommendations : India Council Chair – 2022
A nomination committee has been constituted in 2021 consisting of following members to decide nomination for 2022 IEEE India Council:
1. S.N. Singh, Chair
2. S.M. Sameer, Member
3. Sudeendra Koushik, Member
The committee, unanimously, resolved to extend the tenure of current IEEE India Council Chair, Dr. Suresh Nair, for one more year (i.e. for 2022) as per the provisions of IEEE India Council Bylaws – the Article III, Section 2, after review of performance in the year 2021.

Announcement:- It is unanimously decided to close all the existing India Council Chapters & Merge them with respective section chapters.

IEEE INDIA Educational Activities The EAB recommends policies on educational matters and implements programs specifically intended to serve the educational pursuits of IEEE members, the engineering and scientific communities, and the general public.
Membership Development Activities
To promote both professional and student membership growths in INDIA and the Institute as a whole and to encourage all members to seek the highest membership grade for which they qualify. To monitor membership status and to conceive, develop, and implement membership growth programs in
IEEE Board identified Industry Relations as a major focus Area. To execute the same IEEE INDIA Industrial Relations committee is striving hard to incorporate industry members and cross pollinate industry activities between different sections from INDIA COUNCIL.
