IEEE Asia Pacific Limited
IEEE Asia-Pacific Limited, located in Singapore, aim to keep the Asia Pacific region (a.k.a. IEEE Region 10) the most vibrant and activie regions in the IEEE, by keeping our members, volunteers and customers engaged, informed and their activities coordinated.
With the IEEE Headquarters based in Piscataway, New Jersey on the East Coast of the United States, the presence of the Singapore office provide valuable support to bridge the time zone difference and strive to better serve the members, volunteers and customers in the Asia Pacific region.
The office was registered in Singapore on 4th January 1994 as a branch representative office of The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE). It was called the IEEE Asia Pacific Customer Service Centre. Reporting to Member Services, its’ main purpose was to provide service to customers and members in the Asia Pacific.
In 1995, the IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) engaged the office to provide extra support services to its members in the Asia Pacific region. Shortly with the re-organization of the Communications Society, the office was included into the Charter of the ComSoc Asia Pacific Board (APB) and its role expanded to provide support services to its’ Director and its’ committee activities.
In January 2011, the office relocated to Solaris@Fusionopolis, at the heart of Singapore’s science and engineering research. This move enable IEEE to expand its services for the R&D community, as well as provide greater support for its growing membership and activities in the Asia Pacific region.
Today, the office functions have expended into a comprehensive line, which cover members’ services (extenstion of IEEE Contact Center), volunteers’ support and services, sales and marketing, training support and business development.
