The Southeastern Section of IEEE will host another tour of the Fairlane Estate — Home of Clara and Henry Ford — where Henry and Thomas Edison built a hydropower plant on the Rouge River across the street from the University of Michigan Dearborn.

This is among the first residential direct current hydropower microgrids ever built in the United States.

As in 2019, the event is approximately 4 hours — including transportation from and to pick-up and drop-off points yet to be determined logistically.  IEEE SEM will provide lunch at 12 noon, tour for 2 hours, then return to campuses starting at 2 PM; arriving at the original pick up points no later than 3 PM.
