POSTED 22 FEBRUARY 2023

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

IEEE Bombay Section is pleased to organise the IEEE Sustainable Smart Lighting World Conference & Expo (LS:18) from 8th June to 10th June 2023 which is charter IEEE Conference sponsored by IEEE Power & Energy Society and IEEE Industrial Application Society along with IEEE Future Directions as well as IEEE Smart Lighting initiative.  The conference will also have Exposition with Industrial Exhibits and Technology Demonstrators.

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity. IEEE and its members inspire a global community through its highly cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities since early days of 1884.
Lighting Symposium has a more than 45-year history since the 1st LS (LS1) in 1975 in Loughborough, United Kingdom. LS used to be held every three years, such as LS7 in Kyoto (1995), LS8 in Greifswald (1998), LS9 in Ithaca (2001), LS10 in Toulouse (2004), LS11 in Shanghai (2007), LS12 in Eindhoven (2010). Since LS13 in Troy (2012), LS has become a series of biennial Conferences, followed by LS14 in Lake Como (2014), LS15 in Kyoto (2016), LS16 in Sheffield (2018), LS17 (2022) in Toulouse, France.

IEEE and Lighting Symposium series (LS) have joined hands to collaborate for new International IEEE Conference which being organised by the Bombay Section in City of Mumbai.

The aim of this collocation is to bring the two communities in contact: the LS community, which has been active in lighting systems, expanding to smart and human-centric lighting, and the IEEE community, which has been focussing, on among others, Innovation, Advancement and energy efficiency for lighting solutions. This joint event will provide a unique forum to discuss and debate the latest developments in energy and environmental impact of appliances and lighting, heating and cooling equipment, electronics, smart appliances, smart meter, micro-grids, renewable, consumer behaviour, the policies and programs both adopted and planned. This interaction will give birth, for sure, to new successful collaborations.

The conference invites contributed full papers in IEEE A4 Template with maximum of 6 pages in the field of Smart Lighting or Abstracts in A4 Template with Maximum of 2 pages under the following tracks.  The templates are available on website

Solid-State Lighting
The lighting 4.0
Connected lighting systems (CLS)
Human Centric Lighting (HCL)
Micro-grids/Sustainable Lighting

Topics typically includes are Residential Lighting, LEDification of Illumination, Visual light communications (VLC), Outdoor Lighting, Light-as-a-service (LaaS), Efficiency/Clean Power, Smart Devices and Appliances, Smart Grid/Smart Energy, Smart Village/Communities, Lighting Standards, Smart Lighting in Developing Economies, Smart Lighting in Emerging Economies, Commercial Models of Lighting Projects.
