There is a need by the users of liquid-immersed distribution transformers including pole, pad mount and submersible transformers for a Guide for the application of electronic monitoring to assist in determining the health of these transformers. This need is driven by the user’s desire to provide to consumers of power greater reliability. An additional need is driven by the proliferation of distributed generation that pushes power from the user to the distribution grid through these transformers.Producers of these transformers will play a key role to provide input on mounting and application of transducers that the working group agrees to recommend.
