Transportation Systems Committee (TSC) is a technical committee within the Industry Applications Society (IAS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
The scope of the TSC covers all aspect of transportation systems within the scope of IAS, in which the emphases are on the systems operation of electrified on-board and off-board components, systems and infrastructure, encompassing all modes of transportation for people and goods.
The technical topic areas of TSC includes the following areas: transportation systems analysis as it is relevant to charging and fueling infrastructure (mobility, routing, etc.), transportation system power electronics (traction, charging, etc.), electric motors for transportation, grid integration analysis and solutions (low power, high power, wired, wireless, etc.), energy storage systems used in transportation (battery, hydrogen, and other alternative sources), cyber/physical security applications that focus on transportation systems, standards and protocol development for power electronics and hardware infrastructure.
To achieve its objective, TSC selects subjects and encourages the development of formal papers, panel sessions, tutorials, etc., to be presented at the conferences and meetings sponsored by the Committee. For that matter, TSC is actively engaged in the development and organization of Track D – Transportation Electrification Applications at the ECCE conference.
The Committee also works actively in developing and promoting standards within its scope.
