IEEE IIT Mandi “Robowar”

IEEE Student Branch Chapter IIT Mandi in collaboration with Robotics club of IIT Mandi organized a “Robowar” as a part of the Techno-Cultural fest of IIT Mandi named Exodia’19. This was conducted on 13th April 2019 in IIT Mandi in collaboration with IEEE PES-IAS-PELS Delhi Section. The vibrant and enthusiasm of the students made the events successful. The undergraduate and graduate students showcased their robotics talent through the invention of robots to fight with the other robot(s).

The activity had a task and objectives as defined below:

The task was to design and construct a wired or wireless (remote controlled) robot capable of fighting a tournament against other bot(s). Each team has to come up with a CAD model of a robot. With mighty armors, nifty axes and more innovative weapons.

Design Specification:

Robot Dimensions:

Dimensions of the bot should not exceed 700mm x 700mm x 1000 mm (lxbxh). The external device used to control the bot is not included in the size constraint.

Weight of the bot should not exceed 28kg (excluding remote control and wires).

∙ If the robot is solely powered by onboard batteries (wireless robots), we will consider the weight of bot excluding battery, so the battery should be easily removable.

The student formed the team and invented the robots with a significant novelty. The demonstration of the students’ efforts was at par appreciative winning them awards and prizes from the IEEE Student Branch Chapter IIT Mandi and IEEE PES-IAS-PELS Delhi Section.
