Technical Symposium 2.0

Summary: A workshop to expound the fundamentals and technical applications related to electronic components.

IEEE PES and IAS Student chapter of Amrita School of Engineering organized a two-day workshop “VAWO” from the 05th of January to the 06th of January at Amrita School of Engineering.

Day1 (1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. E-Learning Hall)

The first day of the workshop was conducted in E-Learning Hall from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. Mr. Sanju Srivasthav explicated the evolution of breadboards and the procedure of using a multimeter.Mr.Pavan, pursuing his bachelors of degree, elucidated all the fundamental laws and theories concerned to electrical engineering. Ms. Shivani continued the session by presenting a brief knowledge of the operation of Opamps and semiconductors. Mr. Prashant took the dais and shared his knowledge of vivid IC’s and electronic components. Mr. Vinayak tutored the participants on the operation of 555 timers and their respective applications.

Day2 (09:00 AM to 03:00 PM in Measurements Lab)

Mr. Praneeth described vivid sensors and elucidated their operation in different applications. Ms. Navya expounded the operation of a light detector circuit using 555 timers. All the volunteers were actively engaged in reaching out to the participants to rig up the circuit on the breadboard.

In the subsequent afternoon session, all the contestants instigated the circuit on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board). The workshop ended with a quiz on the parameters whichever they learned throughout the workshop.

The workshop ended on a high note with the participants gaining a brief knowledge of the different projects they could do in the future. A total of 76 members were a part of this workshop with 10 members being the IEEE members.
