Emerging Trends in Silicon Carbide Power Electronics

This activity was a lecture delivered by Alan Mantooth, a professor at the University of Arkansas, US. The lecture was about applications of high-density power electronics.

The main topics were:

  • Integration of power semiconductor devices, drivers, protections, control circuitry, passives, and voltage isolation techniques into single modules.
  • Impacts of manufacturing wide bandgap integrated circuits.
  • Emerging trends in silicon carbide analog and mixed-signal IC design for power electronic applications.
  • Advanced 3D packaging techniques are driven by multi-objective optimization techniques.

The activity was held at the University of the Andes in Lleras auditorium. Seventy people including students, professors, and professionals of a variety of universities of Colombia, including University of the Andes, National University of Colombia (Bogota and Manizales branches), Universidad de los Llanos, Universidad Distrital Francisco Jose de Caldas, Universidad Javeriana, Universidad Autonoma de Occidente, Universidad Surcolombiana, Universidad Tenológica de Pereira, and Universidad de Ibague attended the activity. The activity started at 10:30 A.M and finished at 11:30 A.M.
