IEEE EMC Technical Meeting

The Huntsville Chapter of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society invites you to attend a Technical Meeting on May 18, 2017 featuring a talk given by Mr. Bob Ydens. The program will begin at 5:30 pm with Bob Ydens of EMI Solutions Inc. sponsoring a free catered meal. Mr. Ydens technical presentation will begin at approximately 6:20 pm after some short chapter status updates.
Synopsis: Since the first half of the 20th century, the engineering community has grappled with an ever-increasing need to manage electromagnetic interference. From the introduction of the minimally effective Faraday cage up through today’s cutting edge filters and filtered connectors, the containment of EMI continues to provide new challenges as systems simultaneously emerge in smaller, faster and more sophisticated variations. Offering an essential overview of the history, cause and effect and regulatory considerations surrounding EMI, the focus is on identifying how to effectively deploy filter technology, including low pass C, LC/CL and Pi filters, grading their performance within specific applications. The presentation concludes by illustrating customer specific examples to simulate identifying the optimum solution for actual EMI issues.
The meeting will be held at ADTRAN in the East Tower, 2nd floor, Fountainview Conference Room. The directions are included below (follow the Blue line on the map).
