IEEE EMC Technical Meeting

January 19, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Co-sponsored by: Mr. Gabe Hartwig – Rohde & Schwarz

The Huntsville Chapter of the IEEE Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Society invites you to attend a Technical Meeting on January 19, 2017 featuring a talk given by Mr. Bill Wangard.  The program will begin at 5:30 pm with Gabe Hartwig of Rohde & Schwarz sponsoring a free catered meal.  Mr. Wangard’s technical presentation will begin at approximately 6:20 pm after some short chapter status updates.

Synopsis: The release of MIL-STD461G specifically states the use of FFT technology is allowed for EMI measurements.  FFT technology not only brings significant improvement in speed, but also the ability to capture pulsed/intermittent signals.  This presentation covers the technical details of Time Domain Scan and compares/contrasts the methodology to traditional Frequency Swept Spectrum Analyzers and the Frequency Stepped methodology of EMI Receivers.  In addition, the presentation will give a brief introduction to real-time spectral analysis and discuss how it is changing the EMC measurement industry.

The meeting will be held at ADTRAN in the East Tower, 2nd floor, Islandview Conference Room. The directions are included below (follow the Blue line on the map).

The meal and presentation are open to anyone interested in EMC: IEEE membership is not required to attend. Seating is limited to the first 75 people registered. Please RSVP/Register below.
